Formed in 1967, the purpose of the Auckland Organists' Association is to foster and promote an appreciation, understanding and interest in organs, organ building, organ music, in the Auckland and surrounding regions of New Zealand.
Objects of Association
Some of the objects of the Association are to:-
- Hold meetings, seminars and other functions and activities to promote the exchange of ideas, mutual support and fellowship of those interested in organs and organ music.
- Arrange and promote recitals/concerts by local and visiting organists.
- Encourage young people and others to learn to play the organ and to enter formal study.
- Increase awareness and appreciation of, and provide information and advice on the organ and its music.
- Liaise with other musical groups with similar objectives.
Events are usually held once a month and take the form of public recitals (concession rates for members), master classes, workshops, lectures, visits to organs of local and historical interest, and social functions. Members receive a regular newsletter and e-mail notices of events and information.
Membership
Anyone may apply for and on acceptance become an odinary Member of the Association.
Student membership is available to anyone receiving or likely to receive organ tuition whilst still at school or at university. Associate membership with limited benefits, is available to partners of ordinary Members, and others at the discretion of the committee.
Members of the AOA are automatically members of the New Zealand Association of Organists, ORGANZ and receive the periodical of the New Zealand Association of Organists, ORGANZ News. Its English equivalent, Organists’ Review is also available for an additional subscription.
In applying for membership agreement is given to abide by the Rules and Bylaws of the Association. Unless indicated otherwise agreement is also given to email addresses being held and used by ORGANZ in accordance with ORGANZ privacy policy, and to receive material relating to the activities of ORGANZ, and understand that you can revoke this arrangement by contacting the National Secretary at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. How to join
You are welcome to join the Auckland Organists’ Association.
To join the Auckland Organists' Association, please download and complete the Membership Application form and send with payment to:

Please make cheques payable to Auckland Organists’ Association Inc.
For direct banking transfer your fee to ASB Account 12-3011-0757942-000, and include your name, and “subscrptn” as particulars.
Your membership is for 12 months from the month of joining. However as subscriptions are renewed at the beginning of the year for a calender year a pro-rata adjustment in the renewal subscription will apply in the second year.
