Three young organ scholars from around New Zealand competed this morning in annual ORGANZ Performance Competition, held in St Peter's Anglican Church in Palmerston North.

All three players were commended for the quality of their playing, the First Prize winner was Thomas Gaynor from Wellington, runner up Rima  Tamaiparea-Puki from Hamilton, third Simon Mace from New Plymouth.

The second day of Congress began with workshops at various churches, followed by the competition. After lunch Congress ventured out into the Manawatu/Rangitikei countryside to visit pipe organs in small-town and rural churches. The evening promises a dazzling recital by Thomas Heywood in All Saints'.
