The Organ at St Stephen's AnglicanOn 5 September St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Lincoln, celebrated the centenary of its N.T. Pearce organ, which was opened on the 4th September 1908, with a concert and presentation of a category 1 N.Z.O.P.T. certificate.

In 1990, John Dodgshun, who maintains the organ, headed a team of Christchurch Organists’ Association members which dismantled the instrument in the old Mountfort building. While the building was restored and enlarged the organ was restored and later re-erected in the restored church.

The event was attended by one hundred and thirty people including four relatives of builder Tom Pearce. John and Eric Apperley (organ) and Libby Bennetts (soprano) presented a seventy minute programme which was followed by a typical country supper. John Dodgshun unveiled a plaque commemorating the event. The instrument is completely original down to the colour of the case pipes.
