Stephen Hamilton, foundation chair of the Auckland Town Hall Organ Trust which oversaw the renewal of the Auckland Town Hall organ by Klais Orgelbau and the continuing development of its contribution to the Auckland community, has been awarded the Queen's Service Medal for services to the community in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.  He is also national treasurer of ORGANZ.

Other prominent members of the organ community honoured recently are John Hargraves of The South Island Organ Co, Timaru and Roy Tankersley of Palmerston North who were both made Members of the New Zeakand Order of Merit (MNZM) in the past year.
