Description

In this National Organ Week recital , Bill Buck (organ) will play a wide variety of works by Bach, Vierne, Schumann, Honegger, Durufle and Howells. He will be assisted by Momoko Yasuda (euphonium) in music by Haydn and others. Admission by gold coin donation. Bill Buck has worked around the world, but in retirement is playing an active part in the local Motueka music community. He is a former winner of the ORGANZ Composition Competition.

Momoko Yasuda is a Japanese exchange student studying at Motueka High School.

The organ at St Johns in-the-City was built by Bishop and Son in the 1880s and installed in a London Church. It was brought to NZ and installed in St Johns in early 1890s. It was restored with characteristic additions by the South Island Organ Company  in 2003. It has two manuals, 25 stops and electric-pneumatic action.
