Description
Organ 'fireworks' are promised at a celebrity concert by eminent English concert and recording artist Christopher Herrick. With the Taranaki Youth Orchestra, conductor Harry Brown, Herrick will play the Symphony No 1 in d minor for organ and orchestra by Alexandre Guilmant and Handel's March from the Occasional Oratorio for organ and orchestra. He will also play works for solo organ by Guilmant, J.S. Bach, Howells, Rinck, Shearing & Lanquetuit. Admission by programme at door.

Description
The organ at St Mary's is a 30 stop, 3 manual and pedal Bishop & Starr/George Croft/George Croft & Son organ. It contains pipe work from 1865 and its late-Victorian character distinguishes itself in the warm acoustic of this historic stone building.
