Description

Eminent UK concert organist and recording artist Christopher Herrick performs on the new Flentrop organ.

The programme comprises a series of pieces by Buxtehude and others specially selected to suit the instrument:

Dietrich Buxtehude (1637 - 1707): –                                                                                        Praeludium in A minor [BuxWV 153]                                                                                               Komm, heiliger Geist, Herre Gott [BuxWV 199]                                                                              Toccata in D minor [BuxWV 155]                                                                                                  Chorale Variations: ‘Nun lob, mein Seel, den Herren’ [BuxWV 213]                                                 Praeludium in C [BuxWV 13]  

Luigi Boccherini (1743 – 1805): Minuet

Iain Farrington (b. 1977): Penguins, Giraffes and Barrel Organ Monkey from Animal Parade  

J. S. Bach (1685 – 1750): Trio Sonata No. 4 in E minor [BWV 528]

Flor Peeters (1903 – 1986): King Jesus has a Garden

The new organ at St Paul's Lutheran is a Flentrop, installed by Rinus Koole from Flentrop Orgelbouw. It is a 2 manual organ with a flat and short pedal that runs to top D.
