Presented by Dr Christopher Hainsworth, Organist of Beziers Cathedral. Also featured are Beethoven with his Variations on “God Save the Queen”, Pleyel with his Variations on a Scottish air, Elgar with an extract from “Poms and Circumstance” among other favourites as well as New Zealand composers Lilburn, Barnett, Stott and Hainsworth with short entertaining pieces.

This is a first in a series of organ concerts at St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral in 2009 featuring the 30 stop 3 manual and pedal Bishop & Starr/George Croft/George Croft & Son organ. The organ contains pipe work from 1865 and its late-Victorian character distinguishes itself in the warm acoustic of this historic stone building.
