Description

Vive la France! - with city organist Douglas Mews and 18 year old guest performer Tom Gaynor, NZ School of Music student and Richard Prothero Organ Scholar at St Paul's Cathedral. Colour and virtuosity are the fore in this French feast which includes Gigout's Scherzo, Franck's Grande Piece Symphonique and Balbastre's Variations on La Marseillaise. Part of the 2009 Wellington Town Hall Organ Concert Series.

The Wellington Town Hall organ is a Norman & Beard (1906) 4 manual & pedal instrument. Restored by the South Island Organ Company in 1986.
