Description

Winter Organ Concerts 2009

Charles Sullivan gained LTCL and FTCL diplomas for organ performance in Dunedin. He subsequently had organ lessons for a year in Freiburg, Germany, and more recently learned much from playing several historic German organs, particularly in the area where JS Bach grew up (Thuringia).

Charles will demonstrate how well this organ is suited to performing a wide variety of music. Today's programme will include the rarely heard and lively Waikato March (Webster, 1908); Chorale variations on O Gott, du frommer Gott (JS Bach, c 1705); Liberty Bell March (Sousa, 1893); and Toccata in G (Dubois, 1889).

Free admission (donations/koha towards the conservation of the organ, and costs of heating, will be very welcome)
