The Out and Loud Gala Concert is the closing event of the Out and Loud 2010 Choral Festival.

Ten Gay and Lesbian choirs from Australia, North America and New Zealand showcase their talent. Each group performs by itself, and there are 3 massed choir works.

The finale of the concert is a new work for massed choir, organ and piano, by New Zealand choral composer David Hamilton, and commissioned specially for this event. The work features the refurbished Town Hall organ, the organist is Indra Hughes; it wil be conducted by Dr Karen Grylls.

The pipe organ, the largest in New Zealand, was rebuilt by the firm of Klais Orgelbau and the new organ inaugurated in March 2010.

Parking available in the Civic car park, beneath adjacent Aotea Square - the cost for evenings and weekends is a flat rate. Also, after 6pm parking in neighbouring streets is mostly free although the number of spaces is limited.
