Description
The pipe organ in Pitt St Methodist played its first note after King's Birthday weekend 1911. It was built by George Croft, undoubtedly the most significant builder of pipe organs in Auckland, if not New Zealand, in the first half of the 20th Century.
The 100th birthday of this organ will be marked by a special church service, incorporating choir and organ music heard in the 1911 festivities.
All welcome.
This event is part of "The King's Birthday" Auckland Organ Festival, 3-6 June 2011.
