Description

Dr John Wells, Auckland City Organist, plays the 1898 Hobday organ (the earliest existing example of its type in New Zealand) installed last year in St Mary's Catholic Church, Tauranga. The exciting and wide ranging programme includes music by Handel, Bach, Couperin, Pierné and Vierne. He also plays his own "Chorale Fantasia on Cwn Rhondda", based on the tune of the rousing Welsh hymn "Guide me, O Thou Great Redeemer". Adults $20, children free. Proceeds to the Organ Fund.
