The organ at St Johns in-the-City was built by Bishop and Son in the 1880s and installed in a London church. It was brought to NZ and installed in St Johns in the early 1890s. It was restored with characteristic additions by the South Island Organ Company in 2003. It has two manuals, 25 stops and electropneumatic action.
